With nearly two decades of experience in the seed industry, Joyce Karanja began her career in 2006 at a start-up seed company, where she managed business development and finance while engaging with regulatory agencies such as KEPHIS and KRA. She later joined the Kenya National Seed Association as Deputy to the Executive Officer, overseeing partnerships, project coordination, finance, and administration.
Joyce currently serves as the Executive Officer of the Seed Trade Association of Kenya (STAK) and as Honorary Secretary to its Board of Directors. In this role, she provides strategic leadership, manages day-to-day operations, and leads policy and advocacy initiatives in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock Development (MOALD), KEPHIS, and other key stakeholders. Her leadership continues to strengthen partnerships, promote enabling policies, and drive sustainable growth within the seed sector.
