membership categories and fees

STAK membership is broadly categorized into:

1) Ordinary Members

These are public or private commercial enterprises registered or incorporated in Kenya by the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services (KEPHIS) for purposes of producing, supplying and/or marketing seed. They may be private, wholly or partly owned by Government but must deal exclusively in seed or have seed as their major enterprise. These have voting rights.

2) Associate Members

These are without voting rights and include:

  • Seed enterprises registered outside Kenya and whose substantial business is not in Kenya.
  • Agro dealers in the seed supply chain
  • Other organizations involved in seed matters.
  • Products and services suppliers to the seed industry.
  • Public institutions and agencies that are involved in seed matters.

Membership Categories and Fees

1)  Ordinary members:  KSh 10,000 one time registration fee and annual dues as follows:

  • Category 1 – KSh 340,000
  • Category 2 – KSh 210,000
  • Category 3 – KSh 170,000

2) Associate members – KSh 5,000 one time registration fee and annual dues of KSh 85,000
