Job Title of the position: Agribusiness officer
Location: Nairobi with over 60% field work
Contract Term Period: 1 Year (Project period)

Job Description

• Coordinate training for producers in agribusiness skills such as record-keeping, financial literacy, value addition, and market analysis.
• Facilitate market linkages between farmers and buyers, processors, input suppliers, and financial service providers.
• Support the development and implementation of business plans and enterprise budgets.
• Conduct field assessments to identify market dynamics, agribusiness opportunities and constraints in target regions.
• Promote climate-smart and regenerative agriculture business models.
• Assist in organizing trade fairs, exhibitions, and stakeholder forums.
• Monitor and report on agribusiness activities, achievements, and challenges.
• Work closely with extension officers, local partners, and community-based organizations to drive agribusiness agenda

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, General agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Agribusiness Management, Cooperative Management, or related field.
• At least 2–3 years of work experience in agribusiness coordination development or value-chain work.
• Strong understanding of market systems, business planning, and agricultural value chains.
• Experience working with agricultural partners and farmers.
• Proficiency in data collection tools and report writing.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to prepare workshop materials and facilitate training

Additional Requirements

• Strong communication skills (Written and oral)
• Strong track record around public relations and groups dynamics management
• Analytical & Liason skills with strong understanding of Kenyan agrodealers, Government and associations landscape
• Knowledge of local policy environments
• Understanding of human rights
• Proficiency in Microsoft tools and data analytics
• Additional languages an advantage
